About the Moscow flag

It’s not well-known worldwide, but the city has a flag based on the Coat of Arms of Moscow.

The flag was only adopted in 1995, making it a reasonably young flag, but impressive nonetheless. 

The flag is dark red with a silver depiction of St George dressed in a blue coat, atop a silver horse, slaying a dragon/wyvern-like creature. He is shown fighting off the beast with a golden spear placed in the centre of the flag.

Moscow Flag with St. George Emblem

While the flag itself is reasonably new, the emblem has been a part of Russia’s coat of arms since the 16th century and serves as a reminder of the life of St George. 

You may already recognise the emblem, given that it is an integral part of the coat of arms of Russia, which is far more well-known internationally.

It is ideal for someone from the city, has visited it, or has an appreciation for the flag. The proportions are 2:3.

The flag size is 5’ x 3’ (1500mm x 900mm) and is 100% polyester.

Shipping & Delivery

Most UK mainland orders are shipped by next working day delivery courier (not guaranteed), or by Royal Mail 1st class post.

Orders placed before 1230pm on a working day will be processed and despatched the same day. Please note that during busier periods, this cannot be guaranteed. Royal Mail postage does not guarantee a delivery date. Orders needed for a specific date should use next day delivery courier (not guaranteed).

It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ensure all shipping details are correct. The next working day delivery is a Monday to Friday delivery service.

Saturday delivery may be available for a small surcharge. Orders placed after 1230pm on a Friday will be shipped Monday or Tuesday on bank holidays (we do not ship on weekends or bank holidays).

All next day deliveries sent by courier will require a signature.
