This Aramean-Syriac flag was made for Arameans based on the design of the Winged Sun symbol; it replaces the sun with a torch, which symbolises the Holy Spirit in Christianity. A number of Syriac Christians and members of the Syriac Orthodox Church and Syriac Catholic Church advocate the Aramean-Syriac flag. Adapted in the 1980’s it shows a yellow winged torch on a red background. The yellow represents hope and represents ?the Aramean (Syriac) nation in the Aramean homeland and in the Aramean diaspora. The red background represents the blood that was spilled in the Aramean Genocide.
