Bedfordshire Flag

This Bedfordshire flag shows a modified design of the banner of arms ? 3 shells on a black background represent the arms of the Russell?s, Dukes of Bedford. Bedfordshire County Council created a coat of arms to celebrate the Festival of Britain in 1951 and was used on a flag until it was abolished in 2009. In 2014 a campaign was started by the Friends of Bedfordshire Society and it became a successful campaign to create a modified version of the previous flag.
