The Donetsk Peoples Republic Flag is made up of three colour block stripes of black, blue and red. Featuring the coat of arms symbol in the centre of the flag. Measuring 5’x3′, this flag is ideal for a variety of occasions. Made from 100% polyester this design is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Making it perfect for events or special occasions.

Symbolic Colours

The Donetsk Peoples Republic Flag design borrows from the three pan-Slavic colours of the Russian flag (red, white, and blue) and coat of arms. With each individual country simply substituting white for one of the colours on their existing regional flags. In this case, the white has been substituted for a stripe of black. The black of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s flag is commonly thought to represent the nearby Black Sea, although others have suggested either the black of the Russian Imperial tricolour or even the province’s coal mining industry.

The History of the Flag

The design of the Donetsk People’s Republic flag is widely attributed to the short-lived Donetsk Krivoy-Rog People’s Soviet Republic, founded in January 1918, with Soviet Russian support, as Ukraine descended into chaos during the Russian Civil War. The Republic notionally included areas both in modern-day Ukraine and Russia, and the cities of Kharkiv and Luhansk both served as its capital at various points. Following the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, between Russia and Germany, both the Donetsk and Ukrainian Soviet Republics ceased to exist; and with the Peace of Riga in 1921, the territory of the former Donetsk Republic was absorbed into Soviet Ukraine.

Most UK mainland orders are shipped by next working day delivery courier (not guaranteed), or by Royal Mail 1st class post.

Orders placed before 1230pm on a working day will be processed and despatched the same day. Please note that during busier periods, this cannot be guaranteed. Royal Mail postage does not guarantee a delivery date. Orders needed for a specific date should use next day delivery courier (not guaranteed).

It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ensure all shipping details are correct. The next working day delivery is a Monday to Friday delivery service.

Saturday delivery may be available for a small surcharge. Orders placed after 1230pm on a Friday will be shipped Monday or Tuesday on bank holidays (we do not ship on weekends or bank holidays).
