Giant Anti Fascist Action flag honours AFA which was first launched in London during 1985.

The movement was responsible for significantly reducing racist and facist street violence. They fought against different far right groups such as the National Front. Sometimes they faced critics who would argue that the groups whole approach was far too confrontational and that it had the opposite effect of what it had first originally set out to achieve. Nonetheless they built up a strong movement that still resinates to this day.

Although the movement was dissolved in 2001 it still remains one of the most significant anti racist and anti facist groups.
