Description

The Scottish Covenanter flag is a historic banner associated with the Covenanter movement in 17th-century Scotland. This flag represents the religious and political movement that supported the National Covenant of 1638 and the struggle to preserve Presbyterian church governance during a period of conflict between the Scottish Covenanters and the British monarchy.

Covenanters played a significant role in Scottish history, standing for their religious beliefs and the independence of the Presbyterian Church. The Scottish Covenanter flag is often recognised for its historical connection to this movement and the turbulent period of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms in the 1600s.

Today, the flag is used in historical displays, reenactments, educational settings, and heritage events exploring Scotland’s religious and political history. It is also popular with collectors of historic flags and those interested in the story of the Covenanters and their influence on Scottish identity and religious history.

Whether displayed as part of a historical collection, used for educational purposes, or featured at heritage events, the Scottish Covenanter flag serves as a visual reminder of an important chapter in Scotland’s past.
