Shop Dorset Flag Windsock

Wave the Dorset Flag with this brightly printed windsock. If you are looking to decorate your home, garden or any outdoor space with a touch of Dorset, this bold windsock design is perfect.

The body of the windsock is made up from the classic Dorset flag design and features long red, yellow and white striped tails. Once in use, the windsock reaches a full length of 1.5m. Creating a fantastic statement once blowing proudly in the wind,

This boldly printed design is a great way to add some colour to the outside of your home. Perfect for gardens and outdoor events, (however must not be left out in extreme wind conditions over a prolonged period).

Symbols & Colours

The Dorset flag features a white cross edged with red on a golden yellow background  These bright and bold colours all have historical significance to Dorset and it’s English county roots.  While all three colours pay a nod to the original Dorset coat of arms. The red and white colours also make reference to the English flag itself, and the yellow/gold colouring symbolises Dorset’s agricultural heritage and golden sandy beaches.

History of the Flag of Dorset

This flag began its existence in September 2008 following a public vote organised by the Dorset County Council. Following a decision to step away from the Dorset coat of arms, which holds it’s own purpose in the council. The competition was opened and a variety of entries were considered. Finally, Jason Saber, a member of the Flag Institute, opted for the winning white cross design, we see today. Which is now locally and commonly known as the Dorset Cross.

Shipping & Delivery

Most UK mainland orders are shipped by next working day delivery courier (not guaranteed), or by Royal Mail 1st class post.

Orders placed before 1230pm on a working day will be processed and despatched the same day. Please note that during busier periods, this cannot be guaranteed. Royal Mail postage does not guarantee a delivery date. Orders needed for a specific date should use next day delivery courier (not guaranteed).

It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to ensure all shipping details are correct. The next working day delivery is a Monday to Friday delivery service.

Saturday delivery may be available for a small surcharge. Orders placed after 1230pm on a Friday will be shipped Monday or Tuesday on bank holidays (we do not ship on weekends or bank holidays).

All next day deliveries sent by courier will require a signature.
