Norfolk Windsock

Share your passion for Norfolk with the windsock that bears the flag of this English county. Approximately 60 inches in length this windsock showcases a black and gold background with a diagonal ermine pattern from top left to the bottom right.

History of the Norfolk Flag

Following a campaign by native Norfolk man Dominic Victor Maverick Smith the Norfolk flag officially became registered on 11th September 2014. The design of the Norfolk flag is taken from a banner of arms to represent the historic emblem of the proud country. The banner of arms is attributed to the First Earl of Norfolk, Ralph de Gael. The simple yet bold design is widely recognised throughout Norfolk and is even used by the local county council.

The local county council aren’t the only ones in Norfolk to make use of the historic arms of Ralph de Gael. In fact, many Norfolk businesses including the Norfolk Broads Yacht Club and souvenir shops use the design too. Since it was officially registered as a flag in 2014, use of the flag has grown with many businesses and residential homes flying their Norfolk flags in support.
